When they came back, I cared for my grandmother, helping take her clothes upstairs, supporting her walk up and down the stairs, bringing her food and drinks, vacuuming and organizing her room, doing her laundry, and washing her dishes. As she continued to recover, I was always there for her. Sometime our mother was so busy that she did not even have time for herself. Clarie was always there to care for us, cooking, assisting on our school work, organizing and cleaning our house, taking us to the movies, and games.
Sometimes she would keep us for a weekend. Clarie cared for us the way a mother care for her children. She never complained, frowned, strained, or wavered. She accepted the responsibility with her whole heart. She served as a second mother for us.
Caring goes beyond taking care of family members and friends. I packed a care package for a family in the Philippines at the beginning of the Thanksgiving. I was really proud of doing that because it was a way to care for others. I received a letter from a family thanking me for the care package.
I was filled with joy knowing that I helped a family. Caring is being compassionate and supporting people as they go through tough times. Caring is helping others in time of needs. Caring is a good trait for everyone to have and the world will be a better place if we care for one another.
